APS PharmSci 2025 in Cardiff: Innovation, Nanomedicine, and Genvolt’s Electrospinning Expertise

The Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) hosted its 16th PharmSci International Conference from 9th – 11th September 2025 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, UK. This landmark event brought together global leaders in nanomedicine, advanced drug delivery, and pharmaceutical innovation, and Genvolt was proud to be an exhibitor, showcasing our pioneering role in Electrohydrodynamic Atomisation (EHDA) technologies—particularly electrospinning and electrospraying.

A Global Gathering of Pharma Leaders

The conference opened with a warm welcome from Professor Ryan Donnelly (APS Chair), setting the stage for three days of breakthrough science, networking, and collaboration.

Key highlights included:

  • Plenary Lecture: “Promoting Cancer Nanomedicine Clinical Translation” by Professor Twan Lammers (RWTH Aachen University Clinic, Germany).
  • Plenary Lecture: “The RNA Revolution: From Vaccines to Therapeutic Genome Editing in a Targeted Manner” by Professor Dan Peer (Tel Aviv University, Israel).
  • Award Lecture: “Small things can have big effects – manipulating cell signalling through nanoplatforms” by Professor Chris Scott (Queen’s University Belfast, UK).
  • Award Lecture: “Using the very small to tackle the very large – our journey from concept to clinic” by Professor Dame Ijeoma Uchegbu DBE (University of Cambridge, UK).
  • Award Lecture: “Nanovaccines for Brain Cancer: Advancing Immunotherapy Through Precision Drug Delivery” by Dr Flávia Sousa (University of Groningen, Netherlands).

These sessions highlighted how nanotechnology, RNA-based therapies, and precision medicine are reshaping the pharmaceutical landscape.

Genvolt at PharmSci 2025

As part of the Exhibitors’ Showcase, Genvolt Ltd delivered a presentation on our cutting-edge electrospinning and electrospraying solutions. We shared insights into:

  • How Genvolt power supplies and syringe pumps are enabling breakthroughs in nanofibre and nanoparticle fabrication.
  • Our strong record of supporting academic researchers and industry innovators in drug delivery, tissue engineering, and nanomedicine.
  • The importance of precision-engineered EHDA technology in ensuring reproducible, scalable, and sustainable pharmaceutical processes.

Visitors also had the opportunity to interact with our team, view live demonstrations of nanofibre fabrication, and explore how Genvolt’s technology can accelerate their own research.

Networking, Posters, and Recognition

Beyond lectures and exhibitions, attendees engaged in poster presentations and networking sessions, fostering collaboration between academia and industry. The Conference Dinner & Awards Night at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama was a memorable celebration, honouring scientists making exceptional contributions to pharmaceutical sciences.

Looking Ahead

PharmSci 2025 confirmed its reputation as one of the leading pharmaceutical conferences worldwide, spotlighting how nanotechnology and EHDA processes are shaping the future of drug development, nanomedicine, and precision therapies. We now look forward to the 2026 event in Newcastle.
